NeuroRAD Conference

Furthering our education weekends in May, our clinical director attended the annual NeuroRAD conference in Melbourne. Run over three days, the conference provided case reviews and lecture series presented by international speakers and expert educators.

Neuro imaging covers any imaging of the body’s nervous system. This includes the brain, as well as the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. MRI and CT are the most widely used modalities to image these areas to assess the structure and function of the nervous system.

Day one presentations included:
– Intracranial Haemorrhage and Haemorrhagic Lesions
– Glial Tumours
– Oral Cavity and Oropharynx
– Nasopharynx and Skull Base
– Neurodegenerative Disorders in Adults
– Stroke
– Non Traumatic Orbital Imaging
– TMJ Imaging

Day two presentations included:
– Intramedullary Spinal Lesions
– Post Op Cervical and Lumbar Spine
– TIRADS and the Incidental Thyroid Nodule
– Imaging of Facial Pain
– Temporal Bones
– Imaging of Paranasal Sinuses
– Intracranial Infection
– Imaging of Cranial Nerves

Day three presentations included:
– Medico-legal cases- Sella/suprasellar/Parasellar Lesions
– White Matter Disease
– Diffusion Weighted Imaging
– Imaging of the Larynx
– Supratentorial Tumours
– Temporal Lobe Imaging

Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology
Dr. Hoang has clinical expertise in head and neck imaging, head and neck biopsies, parathyroid 4D-CT imaging, and CT-guided spine procedures. She is a popular lecturer at Duke University and at national and international meetings.
