Deakin Medical Imaging Workshop

In March, RADIUS Imaging was invited to participate in the Deakin University Medical Imaging Workshop held in Melbourne. The workshop brought together students and educators to explore key professional development topics relevant to future healthcare practitioners in the field of medical imaging.

The session covered a range of reflective and practice-based themes, including reflective practice, goal setting and overcoming barriers, and discussions around communication and professionalism within healthcare environments. These topics were designed to support students in developing both clinical competence and professional awareness as they progress through their studies.

Supporting Professional Development in Medical Imaging

As part of the workshop, students were encouraged to critically reflect on their learning journey and identify strategies to navigate challenges in clinical and academic settings. These discussions form an important foundation for preparing students for real-world practice in the medical imaging profession.

Partnership with Deakin University

RADIUS Imaging maintains a strong and ongoing relationship with Deakin University, supporting students undertaking the Bachelor of Medical Imaging program at the Geelong campus.

Through this partnership, RADIUS facilitates clinical placements that provide students with hands-on experience in a real clinical environment. These placements are essential in helping future radiographers and sonographers develop the practical skills, confidence, and professional judgement required in diagnostic imaging.

Commitment to Education and Future Sonographers

By participating in initiatives such as the Deakin University workshop and supporting clinical training, RADIUS Imaging demonstrates its commitment to the education and development of future healthcare professionals, including aspiring sonographers and medical imaging practitioners.

This ongoing collaboration highlights the organisation’s dedication to advancing the field of medical imaging through education, mentorship, and clinical excellence.
